I'd suggest doing as many group rides and races as you can. Get better at riding with and talking to other people. Networking is a critical skill for life in general.

40s, maybe high 30s, I'm good with a thicker base layer, jersey, arm warmers and wind vest. Probably be fine into the lower 30s with my ears, head covered and warmer gloves.
