I've had similar problems with the Ice Spikers. I've found that on ice or hard-compacted snow they're utterly fantastic! But once you get into loose snow or even slush, they don't work nearly as well...

Thanks for the tip! I measured using some of the advice I've found through Google and it seems my inseam is indeed 31", which I suppose makes sense since the best pants that fit me are typically 30"....
