I switched to 165mm cranks on my 105 equipped Kona. My knee pain went away almost instantly. IMO, bikes are not outfitted properly across sizes when it comes to crankset length.

The Shimano hubs are a tad heavier than the Bitex hubs. If you're targeting a specific weight for a wheelset, it's something to keep in mind. I think I'd prefer quiet over a few grams.
