Not lost my iPhone while on the road. Stayed in my jersey pocket even during a couple of falls on some slick rocky terrain. I do keep my phone in a Silca Phone Wallet, though.

I use mine with a 520. The Varia battery will go dead before the 520's will. Did 110K today and both were going strong, but the Varia had little to do because of very little traffic.

For organized rides I only consider rides at least 80K/50mi. Metric century is my favorite distance.

It an be a tight fit getting the fully inflated tires past the brake pads depending on your setup.
