I did 190 km from Amsterdam to Antwerp on fixed gear, basically all long distances I ride are done on fixed gear. It's more fun for me that way.

Part of the problem is, because she is so short, no shop in the city (and we have like 6 shops we have talked to) have bikes in that size to let her test....

I ride because it rains too much here to skate often. Riding in the velodrome is the closest I can get to skateboarding in a good bowl. Also, crossing country borders is surprisingly fun!

Yeah that sounds pretty lame. Something about one shoe not fitting all feet or some junk. I've had many skate shoes that weren't nice on my feet and cause all kinds of blisters in my foot arch.
