Di2 and Shimano hydraulic brakes are very reliable.

28mm gatorskins will always feel like tractor tires. 30mm Schwalbe G-One Speed(tubeless) tires roll fast, and are smoooth as buttah.

most modern bikes use internal routing, so it might be worth the investment if you plan on cycling for many years.
