I wouldn't ride harder because I was on a crappier bike. I'd ride the same and just be slower.

I recommend Wahoo Elmnt Bolt and a Wahoo speed and cadence sensor. You can put the cadence sensor on your shoe if you want and not have to mount it on the bike.

Disc or rim? If we're talking hydro disc, it would be worth the $600 to me. The frame is great - really helps with the bumps and cracks in less-than-perfect roads and keeps me from feeling as beat-up...
