I have seen some newer models of racing trikes...

I have seen some newer models of racing trikes (after mid 90s) where you can mount V-brakes to canti-style mounts directly on the backside of the fork blades since the cable comes in from the side...

You are correct. Nowhere to mount a rear brake

It has that weird extension to mount the front center pull on and also requires a handlebar binder bold that is also a brake cable hanger

A recent addition. A lot of fun to ride except on crowned roads (roads that are higher in the middle of the road and lower near the curb)...
