Flats are sometimes just bad luck. Going 24k without a flat is unheard of but not the experience of an average rider. I got flats on new tires on super clean roads and never got one in our alley...

I just put a brand new DA chain on and I will try this next time for sure. That goo attracts so much dirt I spent more time than I should clean the drivetrain after two rides.

Anything that "feels" under 30F. Also don't even bother if the wind gusting >15mph if it's around 30F. The ride becomes more of an act of survival than pleasure or training in those temps.

Completely disagree my friend, I always thot Di2 was a luxury until I had a bike with Di2. It's a must-have if you are a serious cyclist and the OP sounds like one.
