I ride a first gen Diverge carbon. 35-36mm is the limit if you want to preserve mud clearance. It's amazing how much tire clearance has exploded since not that long ago.

Must be something to do with the rim/tire combination. Schwalbe has been one of the more reliable manufacturers for tubeless and the G-One has become the OE tire on a number of gravel bikes.
