ok I mesure once more The outside of the rim is 34mm and the inside is 24mm (not 14mm) I'll give it a go try this afternoon again to check

I just bought an old CCM tandem for 50$ (can't be wrong). The back wheel is an old Torpedo Dreigang 3 speed coaster brake. When I bought the tandem it had new style mountain bike tires...
