Thanks, mine actually already cracked. I also had it replaced under warranty and they gave me a carbon wrapped aluminum post as a replacement.

Yup, I love it. I see you made a few of the same changes I made (different bars I think? stem, saddle.) It's a very comfortable bike.

My commute bikes

That Redline looks like my dream commuter, I love that. I also really like that Fargo, the 520s, and the LHT.

Here are mine, I have all three set up for commuting duty:

Agreed, the crankset looks pretty bad. The weird tape job is a result of having two different sets of tape laying around that each had one side ripped. I'll probably put a single color to add some...

My 3 geared bikes.

All three are 3x9. I've been toying with the idea of changing the Antelope to 1x9 but haven't actually done anything about it yet.

I'm Curious

Have at it. I think I have a few ideas on what people won't like but I'm curious.

Chain

Is that a chain being used as a saddle anti-theft device, or is that how you carry a spare? Or am I wrong about both of those guesses?

Thanks trout, I spent a bit of time fitting the cable housing and then removing it and trimming it to get it to the right length. Now I have a template for next time.

Nashbar Hounder

Nashbar Hounder switched to drop bars and and decent dual pivot tektro sidepulls to replace the horrible brakes that came on it.

2002 Trek 6700

I posted this once awhile ago but I've made quite a few changes to it since then. The bike was heavily used when I bought it and the only things that are now stock are the frame, fork, and headset.

Paddle, Pedal and Pints in Beloit, WI

I just want to let anyone in the Beloit area know there will be a Halloween event in Beloit on Saturday the 22nd. It involves 3 legs, a 3.3 mile kayak/canoe paddle, choice of a 6 mile or 11 mile bike...

Have you been able to ride the 1x9 yet, if so how do you like it? I'd like to switch to a 2x9 but I can't justify spending the money right now.

It is. Its limiting factor is the engine right now. I don't see my abilities catching up to the bike any time in the near future.

It is a hell of a lot faster than my previous ride....

Trek 6700

I picked this up on craigslist for $100 in late fall. It's an '02 Trek 6700.

That's a good idea. Looks like it would be a pretty sturdy place to keep the lock. Do you have water bottle mounts on the bottom of the down tube or did you figure out a different way to attach it?...

Yea, most of the lock mounts I have seen don't seem very sturdy. I'm a little surprised this one has lasted as long as it has. Sometimes I just throw it over the handlebars.
