Nope, you are wrong. There are a many of cat1's that never earned that status. I will not name anyone in particular, but have at least 10 names right off the top of my head.

Same in other categories as well, but 1781 cat1's???

At the time, cat1's were still a rare breed, but the idea was to keep it that way.
Now there's like 600? or so.
And many like me aren't even...

I've been a cat1 for 12 years and haven't had real results since '03.
Without USAC telling us to downgrade, the cat1 population has grown to the size...

Plenty of guys in Belgium never turned pro, because they had better deals in their Elite without contract teams.

What's the use unless you have aspirations of stardom, or just want to hold out...
