I'm finding it hard to get motivated to ride in the burned areas, but this thread reminds me of just how much worse it can get (and unfortunately most likely will this summer, as it is bone-dry here...

mp3 files are always lossy.

Re-rip them all as FLAC, ALAC, or to some other lossless codec that allows inclusion of metadata.
