Welp, finally got around to installing the micronew shifters. Figured it would be a good opportunity to overhaul the drivetrain. Shifts perfectly on the stand, we’ll see how it goes on the road....

Rather than fussing with alignment of what was described as a semi-beater frame, adjust the wheel’s true to be centered with the frame. I’ve done it before with no ill results, and it is much easier.

Very strange. I’d be tempted to just remove the offending tab. Is it possible that something is interfering with derailer tension? Also, with the chain removed, do the pulleys spin freely?

Thank you for the opinions! I wouldn’t mind going 11 but it would mean new rear wheel as mine has an originally 9 speed ultegra hub. I will see about the microshift option.

Not sure what could cause that gap to increase, but I would just ride it as is. If something didn’t seat thoroughly, it will become evident and can then be easily addressed.
