I heard the same thing from Soma when I asked them that last year. The chrome grew on me, too. The bike gets compliments all the time.

I have the polished 32H TB14 set laced to Formula Hubs with 25mm Vittoria Rubino Pros and the ride is fantastic. They are also a very good looking rim, if that matters to you.
