Downtube 9FS Update

Decided to go for some drop bars. Love this change. Cross levers make braking in city traffic a non issue. I like this bike more every time I ride it. Single bar end for shifting means no more index...

Rear Downtube shock - anyone replace?

Took the Big Apples off my DT9FS as they won't fit under my fenders. Put some much harder Duranos on there. Noticed that my rear shock is stiff stiff stiff! I am not sure what he quality of the stock...

Hmmm I would have to drill and tap a hole on the drive side of my rear fork. Since I converted to disc brakes I'll have to see if they would get in the way of this type of rack.

Well its all done. Will be giving it the commute test tomorrow. Sram X9 triggers shift like a dream compared to whatever it was stock. The tires are a bit on the beefy side but I love the balloon...

A good thing to try in addition to fatter tires at a lower pressure are some better handgrips. I went from using bar tape on my high racer bars to a thicker foam grip and it made a lot of difference...
