XTR threaded headsets too, they have all sorts of seals. The one on my '92 Mongoose has never been opened as far as I know and it feels perfect.

The XTR 950 rings are proprietary, 112mm BCD for the middle, and 68mm BCD for the small. That whole ring/spider can be swapped out though, they made four and five bolt spiders that took normal rings.
