I also got an ANT USB sensor to measure the cadence, cannot got a signal. So the ultimate solution is installing an external bluetooth sensor.

Seems Pilot II device is making a simple calculation over the Cadance sensor, to measure the speed. Unlike a regular bike, there's no "gears" in the device, easy to calculate the speed.
