When I lived in LA I would take my fixed gear out to some pretty decent climbs -- not the big mountain road climbs but Chevy Chase, Griffith Park, etc. They were hard as hell but it was fun as hell...

Squid is a cool brand, so you're paying cool brand prices for them. Is an unpainted Taiwan made steel "tracklocross" frame worth $666 to you? IMO it's not. I like Squid bikes but I wouldn't buy one...

Head tube angle is absurd on the smaller sizes, and a 5cm jump in TT length between M and L sizes is nuts. If an L or XL fits I might consider it, but the smaller sizes make no sense.
