In my experience, having good wheels is better than having a good groupset. I had Tiagra 4700 and it was like a heavier 10 speed version of 105 5800.

I think Campy or Fulcrum two way fit wheels are what you are looking for. They can probably be found from UK shops (Wiggle, Chain Reaction, Merlin, etc) for around $500.

SRAM Red 22 Crankset.. can be found under $400 on eBay. Under $300 for the one with old graphics if you're really lucky. I used them with Praxis chainrings and it weighs around 500 grams.

I have the 'older' one with the full carbon fork. Seems pretty good but I can only compare it to aluminum bikes and an old Orbea Orca. It's more comfortable than my aluminum bikes and feels faster...
