A little oil and elbow grease got the hub free and shifting smoothly and perfectly. :)
Brakes were already tight and well adjusted.
now a fully functional bike!

Apparently modern guide wheels can not fit this older type derailleur, but I found a supplier on eBay that sells the original wheels NOS, so I ordered one.
