As a former racer, I would venture that with a 53/39 that the 12-25 should be sufficient as an all around setup. It might get tough if you race at Greenbush, or Holy Hill...

Glad you enjoyed it. I remember riding it as a kid when they first paved it back in the early '70's. It wasn't as wide nor as long as it is now. It really is a treasure.

It may take you 2 hours to get to a race, but you'll probably have 20 or more throughout the season that's within 2 hours of you (not knowing where you live). I shoot pictures and can hit 50+ races...
