I replaced the Open Pro with an Open Sport and haven't had problems. I have built wheels for some friends with the Sport and they have held up. One rider was about 250 lbs.

I had a Mavic Open Pro front wheel crack around some of the eyelets. I replaced it before it could fail. Thick anodizing makes a hard surface that can start a crack in the softer Al.

I have serviced some of my radial bearings by removing the seals and flushing them out, then drying, and greasing them. My ABEC 5 bearings have a metal ring that holds the seals.
