its not uncommon, for speed to go up when you do something like this. Ignore it, concentrate on efficiency. If you go faster then you are pushing harder and will also tire quicker.

They are better if you puncture at speed.

The best thing for peddalling technique IMO is ride a fixed wheel bike for training. Not a tiny gear but something like 76inches but depending on your ability.

I prefer leg warmers, because they are more versatile and cheaper in the long run. Make sure they fit well though and have good grippers or they keep coming down :(

i only wear skin leg warmers...
