I have a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 for my 4Runner. I only put it on when we transport the bikes, but its light, super easy to install/remove, and stores easily in the garage.

Very happy with it.

I use this as well and it works fine. Harley-Davidson (don't laugh) makes a Denim Paint Cleaner (that's what they call matte) that also works very well too and it's not expensive.

It is screwed on so just use your finger and unscrew it as you would normally and it will slowly come up. It has an o-ring to seal it so you may have to use a fingernail to lift it out...
