I have had 3 heart attacks so I take beta blockers among a number of other drugs - and they are a pain!!!!!! My unqualified suggestion is that 140/80 is border line but the priority is to get it...

Don't worry about the hills, you will soon get better at climbing. Just go for a very low gear and try to keep an easy rhythm. The advantage of hills is that they are easy coming down.
