The rotten tire was trashed years ago.

Someone suggested that the back brake may not contact a 26" wheel. Is that true?

Nothing got caught in the brakes calipers or fork. I learned that lesson 30 years ago when a loose bungee cord grabbed my wheel and I flew full speed.

I just went over my handlebars avoiding an e-scooter and broke my right hand. Been riding 40 years so I thought that I knew how to ride.

An indoor "bike" is definitely safer.

I only carry pump and flat repair and rubber gloves but I've never used it. The last time my tube popped so I pushed the bike back. I mostly carry something just in case there's a lady stranded....

45 Year Old Shoes

I still cycle using use my 1970s Puma "Fit" shoes. Leather with waffle sole made in Yugoslavia. Very stiff but still great for pedaling ... kind of like me.

My younger self says it was my 1964 Schwinn Stingray. My older self has been riding a 1991 Schwinn 354 aluminum every week since 1991. The best one is the one that you actually ride.

OK, I tried using the 40 chainring yesterday but it slowed me down about 2-3 mph and my pedals were spinning faster. After I shifted it back to the 52 I gained back my speed.
