The camelback frame is similar to a Raleigh Colt.
I recognize both chainrings but at the moment can't remember what the the one on the right is.

The chainring one on the left is more common.

Yes, the leverage helps a lot, as do the Koolstops.
Koolstops and clean rims are the easiest change, so I'd recommend people try that first.

a) Clean the wheel's braking surface with soap and then acetone
b) Koolstop brake pads...

Your local bike shop will have a tool called a "Little Brute" which is basically a modified car jack.
A couple pumps with it and the fork will be straight.

The wheels come off easy. 14MM wrench for the front and 15MM for the rear.
Just disconnect the 3-speed gear cable and they are off.
