I have one on my bike. The fredliness is a small price to pay vs the hefty ticket the cops will give you if you don't have a bell. I also use lights if I'm out within half an hour of sunrise/sunset...

Update: Received the pedals today. They look nice but I won't be using them on my new bike for a couple of months (untill the new bike is built up). The claimed weight is spot on at 224g per pair.
