Fratelli Brivio Hubs

The main reason that FB made hubs for so many others is that they held the patent for hubs constructed of steel barrels with alloy flanges. This was granted in the UK in 1933. I have no idea if a...

That is a lovely tandem. It appears to have the original Resilion cantilever brakes and I feel sure that they are original Chater Lea pedals. I particularly like the decals also - particularly those...

Fiamme Rim

No question that this a Fiamme clincher rim. I have a few of these and none have any engraving. The welded join on them could be better though . I tidied mine up with a file/emery cloth to make...

A dated receipt showing a frame number is very useful as it helps to establish a timeline for frames enabling dating other machines. So posting an image (also for the V-C C files) would be great. The...

Upon further examination, the Grubb track frame refinished with later decals is probably a 1930's frame, but the frame number does not fit with the Grubb number system. In the early 30's they were...

To add further to this :
I have now learned that these rims were available as early as 1934. I have found an advertisement in ‘Cycling’ dated March 2nd 1934 advertising these. It seems that the...

I have since obtained another rim (front) with the Longhi patent mark - 32 hole front with the slightly squarer profile. Dating from mid 1950's I suspect. Again approx 20.5 mm wide....
