Brought it home tonight. Serial number on left side on the rear fork: K422694. It's a "Schwinn Approved," bike, so built in Japan I believe.

Not to beat this dead horse, but it is an '83 sp, I believe. I just bought one that looks exactly like this frame, and paid $250 for the bike entire.

I'm spruce1 in Caribou, Maine where the cycling is glorious and the season is short. I love vintage bikes, grew up on a 70s Bianchi roadie that was fast and catty, and am attempting to refurbish it....
