Metival, As a "Newbie", I am learning more about this. Please explain the "BB drop". Is this the distance to the ground for clearing objects, and related to stability of the bike / geometry?

The gravel will be limited to hard packed forest roads. No singletrack. Any suggested frames in Cyclocross that come to mind?
