If I am just tooting around at 16 mph then ya, no need for it. No need for carbon...

Regarding Crit, the bricks suck but are not wheel breakers. I raced on them...

the surface sucks, you have to ride on shoulder and it is crappy chip seal. So take that into account. Last year we did not have much wind. I think I finished in arond 11:15. I am just a cat 4.

Just curious. Currently riding a venge, had it for 3 years. I know that one day it will leave me do to a crash and figured with aluminum technology getting better I may just go back to an aluminum...

I sold all my tubs and went to clinchers. I have wide training wheels and wide aero race wheels. I don't have to worry about flats, gluing tires, and everything else that comes along with tubs.
