well, its a cycling cap he wants not a new helmet. A cap can be worn at all times not just while riding.

I got the exact same saddle and I love it. I had it only a few weeks before taking it on tour and I had no problems at all. I would put it on the bike you ride the most.

There are a ton of bike shops around the country with a similar mission. I'd love to see one in every city.

Yeah :) constantly. I just never see what I'm after. I think the fabric I want is terribly out of fashion or something :/ That, or its so fashionable it sells quicker than I can get to it.

Word up to that. I didn't know there were any other kind of locks. I live in the SF bay area, EVERYONE has u locks here. Anything else and your just handing your bike over to thiefs.

I actually clean my chain & gears every time I go to the DIY bike shop. About once or twice a month. It's not spotless by any means but decently clean. It helps prolong the life of the chain.

I say your best option is second hand! Look on craigslist, auctions, yardsales. You'll find something. I very rarely ever buy things brand new. Its a great way to save some dough.

I just wear my regular clothes, jeans and t-shirts though I do like riding in thick tights and dresses. Feels so free :) My rides are rarely more than 5-6 miles though.
