I've heard of people using a front derailleur to keep the chain on when running a 1x drivetrain. Maybe the price is wacky depending on where you are, but the derailleur could have a purpose.

Yeah, and those 9 speed brifters will shift great on that 5 speed freewheel also. I would not be surprised if that's a steel wheel with 120mm spacing crammed into that aluminum frame.

Guys, don't be too hard on this person, what they said in the ad is completely true. The small piece missing will in fact not affect "breaking". The rim will completely break in short order ;).
