I wanted a different brand than what I see in my area. Mostly seen Trek and Specialized, with the occasional Giant, Felt, Cannondale. I'm guessing that's because of the strong support from the LBSs...

Got into road cycling in Sept. '07 with a '85 Trek 400. Finally had enough of the 'ancient' (as a co-worker harassed me for it), and splurged for a '07 Scott Speedster S10, bought it on a closeout....
