The inexorable march of progress. Bikes change. In general, they always get better. It’s hard to deny. Overall I see the "better" changes in the mountain bike industry more so than the road bikes.

Good bikes cost money. $600 doesn't get you much above a department store bike in terms of mountain bike, gravel bike or hybrid bike. If the wooded trails on your farm are moderate this might fit...

Trek doesn't do anything different. It's a carbon bike so you can't exactly plunge the bolt into the carbon frame.
