I haven't had any issues with hills. To be honest it is fairly flat around here but I have used it touring on hills with no issues, juist remember to favor the rear brake.

+1 on the Travoy suggestion, I've had mine a year pulled almost daily behind my BF and have owned several other trailers. For ease of use and overall usefulness nothing else is even close.
