I have to completely remove the skewer on my Nova-equipped bike when it's time to remove the front wheel. Going to try a bolt-on skewer to see if it'll clear w/o needing to be removed.

Look for some Mavic road shoes on sale. Depending on your size, you may be able to get a nice pair for under $100. I have a pair, and they work nicely with my Speedplay road pedals.

The 3-to-4 bolt adapters that come with the pedals aren't that bad. In all my years of using their pedals I've never felt the need to pay the extra $$$ for shoes with Speedplay-specific soles.

Also, while the 52mm VO fenders do fit on the Vaya, expect some contact on the inside of the fork blades and seatstays. A 50mm fender is about the biggest that fits the frame/fork with room to spare.
