Well, I think you are right. Things change so quickly, just get something that suits your purpose for now. So, I found the E-Zip from Currie on line at Walmart for $350 and purchased a 2nd Battery...

Wow - this is a bummer. I thought I found the perfect setup. Lithium batteries. 36V system. All in in stock. And approx $800 total cost. Now that the Li batteries only cycle 300 times - I'm back...

I have been looking for an e-bike kit but most suppliers appear to be out of stock.

I found this kit at BatterySpace and it looks reasonable - with Li-Ion batteries for $768.
