Are you using the correct diameter bar? That seems like it may be the problem...if they are maybe a groove has been worked into the bars that is making them too small for the stem.

Why not just sell the bike and get something that is more reasonably a SS bike? I don't believe the tk2 is even drilled for a rear brake. This does not make sense.
