So 2 in 2,200 miles...or 2 in 46 miles (depending on your POV).

In addition, I used to get stressed about connections for public transport and missing one by getting stuck at work.

Now I’m on my own timetable it’s not a bother...and a quicker...

I was in a very similar situation to the OP, gifted an old MTB to commute with. I gradually worked my way down to 1.5 slicks and now use that width on my latest commuter.
