I always wear one while cycling, and have needed to replace several of them after they were smashed in a wreck. I've broken many bones cycling, but never fractured my skull.

I'm using 30mm Schwalbe G-One Speed tires inflated to 60r/55f , and I weigh 178lbs. 70psi is gonna feel like a rock.

I top-off the half filled bottle when I head out, and have cold liquid to drink for 3 hour rides in 100+ degree heat.

What goes around, comes around. The group I ride with is a pretty close group of friends, and we don't worry about giving a friend a CO2 cartridge if someone is having an unlucky day(multiple flats)....
