Thanks for the resource on frame geometry. I can totally see what you mean about the slack angle on that Giant.

I guess one thing I've found helpful is looking at the head tube to seat tube ratio....

Yeah, that's definitely a good point. Many a bike I've bought (or built) turned out to handle differently on the road or the trail. I'll take a look at your earlier post too.
