Not yet. My BMX is also all raw and the surface rust doesn't bother me as its simple to remove. I was anxious to get it together and just ride it but I'm debating on just having it powder coated...

Gatorskins are fantastic. I've ridden two 25c's for about 400 miles so far and not one flat! Peace of mind type of purchase at $50 a tire but well worth it IMO.
