Thanks to everyone! :).. i went out and got a craftsman gear puller and a hacksaw (just in case). The gear puller worked fairly well, had a little difficulty gripping the crankarm with it.

I second the garmin :D. It has the best antenna out there and lasts 18 hours on 2- AA's. Only complaints is the maps, they are expensive.
