I bought a Paramount tandem new in 1979. Yes the frame was very flexible compared to modern bikes. I had Phil brakes, they did not stop well. Had Campy triple crossover Beautiful crankset.

Not mentioned so far is riding out of the saddle. I really enjoy it when we stand up and gently rock the bike side to side together. We can only do that when cranks are in phase.
