I bought a Paramount tandem new in 1979. Yes the frame was very flexible compared to modern bikes. I had Phil brakes, they did not stop well. Had Campy triple crossover Beautiful crankset.

They’ve been reliable for me. Over 10 years, lots of fast riding. Rims are heavy. Rear hub is 160mm for no dish wheel (Santana).

Not mentioned so far is riding out of the saddle. I really enjoy it when we stand up and gently rock the bike side to side together. We can only do that when cranks are in phase.

I agree. I've had a few tandems including a C'dale. I can't complain about the comfort on any of my bikes, including Klein and C'dale singles. Maybe I just avoid lousy roads.
