Good info on the 500/kilo gearing, looks like it really is a pretty broad range for different riders. I've always favored larger gears, I tend to ride a fairly low cadence even by roadie standards....

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys consider a big gear for a 500 or kilo? Baby Puke mentioned 48x13, that doesn't sound particularly huge to me but I'm still pretty new to this.

Don't tell my wife, but I put new Vittoria Corsa Speed TLR clinchers in the clothes dryer for several minutes to warm them up before mounting. These tires are tubeless ready (but I run latex tubes)...

I do the same thing on my standing starts (holding my breath), others at the track kept telling me to breathe. To me it's just what comes naturally. I really don't think lack of oxygen is limiting me...

I'm also new to the track but IMHO it's just as useful for track enduros as it is for road racers. I find it useful to measure training load, set interval targets, evaluate pacing, and analyze races...
