It doesn’t sound like you’re shopping for the lowest price necessarily. I would go by the best dealer nearby, personally. I don’t think it’s risky to buy any reputable brand or dealer.

Actually I've read that older vehicles are more often stolen than newer vehicles because they are much easier to steal and there is a bigger market for parts, more so than newer cars.
